Membership

The BRC offers a paid, registered membership option, which provides many benefits (see list below). However, please note that it is not necessary to be a registered member to participate in most club activities. Memberships range from individual to family to student levels for 1 or 5 years.

Membership fees are used for expenses such as the club’s insurance costs through the Road Runners Club of America.

The BRC is involved in organizing and conducting the Belleville Main Street Marathon and St. Clair County Law Day 5K and Kids Run and is involved in Belleville’s adopt-a-trail program, the Belleville Chili Cookoff, and St. Clair County’s Get Up and Go campaign; the club offers 5K and marathon training programs; and the club participates annually in the River to River Relay in Southern Illinois.

The BRC meets for group runs several times a week. The club also holds regular meetings, which are open to all members and the public. Click here for the BRC calendar of events.

– 10% off purchases from Toolen’s Running Start in Shiloh (must mention in store you are a BRC member) and 10%
off purchases from the Running Warehouse (an online discount code will be sent to registered members).
– Voting privileges on the BRC budget and bylaws.
– Membership in the Road Runner Clubs of America (RRCA—governing body over BRC) and a complimentary online

– Opportunity to participate in the BRC booth at the annual downtown Belleville Chili Cookoff (per RRCA
guidelines, only “registered” members can participant in events in which the transfer/handling of money takes
place).
– Support running/walking in Belleville. Because of our affiliation with the RRCA and efforts of club members,
Belleville was designated a Runner Friendly Community. In addition, the BRC is partnering with the Belleville
Parks and Recreation Department through an annual donation for improvements along the MetroLink trail in
Belleville. In 2017, the BRC donated trees and trash cans along the MetroLink trail.
– You become a “card-carrying member” of one of the coolest groups around!

Bylaws

On March 12, 2012, all four of the BRC founders and a few others got together and adopted a set
of bylaws. By doing so, we were able to gain acceptance to the Road
Runners Club of America
and will allow incorporation, not for profit status, insurance, etc.
